Ignoring major repairs and making costly renovations is something that you should not do. It may seem like a good idea, but selling your house with major repairs and costly renovations could cost you more in the long run. If there are significant issues that potential buyers will not be able to overlook on their own, then they’ll ask for them to be fixed before making an offer. This can mean months of additional delays while you’re paying two mortgages at once, which is never ideal.
